Where it goes, what it plugs into, and how you change the eye from your phone. No app, no account, no remote. Everything below is the whole job, not the easy half of it.

Measure this first

One number decides it: how much room sits behind your lens opening. Take a tape measure to the car before you order.

3 in Lens face. Drops into a standard 3-inch projector or fog light opening.

6.5 cm Depth of the body. This is the one people get wrong - you need clear space behind the opening.

7.8 cm Full height including the mounting feet that screw down.

Two wires come out of the back: red and black. Nothing else has to be plumbed in.

Getting it on the car

There is an easy way and a proper way. Pick before you start.

Pick the opening

Two places these go. The fog light opening in the bumper is the easy one - it is already a round hole with screw ears that line up with the feet on the lens, and on most cars you can reach it from behind the wheel liner.
The other is inside the headlight, next to your projector. It looks better and it is a much bigger job. Read step 3 before you commit to it.
Dry-fit before you touch a wire

Hold the lens in the opening with everything switched off. You are checking two things: that the face sits flush, and that there is 6.5 cm of clear space behind it for the body and the wire tail.
A radiator support, a washer bottle or a bracket sitting right behind the hole is the usual dealbreaker, and you want to find that now.
If it does not clear, stop here and use the 30-day fit guarantee. Do not start cutting things to make room.
Going inside a sealed headlight

The headlight comes off the car and goes in an oven at low heat for ten to fifteen minutes, so the butyl seal softens and the cover lifts off. Then you mount the lens, feed the wire out and reseal it.
Budget two to three hours if you have done one before, or $100 to $200 at a retrofit shop if you have not. This is the part worth paying someone for.
Never bake a headlight that is still on the car, and never with a bulb powered.
Feed the wire out

Use an existing rubber grommet in the back of the housing rather than drilling. If you have to drill, go from the inside out, fit a grommet and seal it. A housing that breathes is a housing that fogs.
Screw it down

The feet on the base take small self-tappers. Snug, not gorilla-tight, the housing is plastic. Zip-tie the wire tail so it cannot rub against anything that moves or gets hot.

Wiring it

Two wires. The only real decision is what you tap.

Red is plus, black is minus

That is the entire connection. The lens runs on anything from 9 to 24V, so a normal 12V car sits in the middle of its range and a 24V truck is fine too.
Test it on the bench, off the car, before anything gets sealed or screwed down.

Bench test first. It costs you five minutes and saves you taking the bumper back off.
Make the connections with the power off

Wire everything with the circuit dead, then switch on. That is what the manufacturer tells you to do, and it is the instruction people skip.
Connect first, power second. Not the other way around.
Decide what you tap
Three normal choices:
- Parking lights - the eyes wake up with your lights. Most common.
- Ignition-switched 12V - on whenever the car is running.
- A toggle switch on the dash - our pick. Animated lighting is show-use in plenty of places, and a switch means you decide when.
Do not tap the high beam.
Fuse it

Put an inline fuse in the positive lead close to where you tapped. Two amps is plenty. It is a dollar of parts and it is the difference between a dead lens and a dead harness.

Changing the eye

There is no app. The lens makes its own WiFi network and you open a web page.

Power it up. It makes its own WiFi

The moment the lens has power it starts broadcasting a network called EYES_ followed by its serial number. There is no password on it. That is normal, and it is how it is meant to look.

This is what you are looking for in your WiFi list.
Join that network on your phone

Settings, WiFi, tap EYES_.... Your phone will tell you the network has no internet connection. Stay on it anyway.
On iPhone, if it keeps kicking you off, turn Cellular Data off for a minute. On Android, turn off switch to mobile data automatically in the WiFi settings.
This is the number one reason people think the lens is broken. The phone quietly walks off the network because there is no internet on it.
Open the control page

Open any browser and type http://192.168.4.1 in the address bar. Include the http:// - leave it off and most browsers try HTTPS first, get nothing, and hand you a page of search results instead.

Eighteen animations and nine colors are already on the lens. Tap one and it changes while you are looking at it. Nothing to save, nothing to confirm.

A JPG or a GIF, exactly 240 by 240 pixels, under 1MB. Logos, your handle, a symbol, an animated loop.
Anything fussier than that will not read at this size, so keep it bold and high contrast. Think sticker, not photograph.
Two lenses means two networks

Each lens is its own device with its own EYES_ network. The pair arrives matched, so out of the box both eyes are already running the same look and you can just fit them.
When you want to change it, you set one, join the other network, and set that one. About a minute for the pair.

If something is not right

I cannot find the EYES network

The network only exists while the lens has power. Check red to plus and black to minus, and check the circuit you tapped is actually live right now - if you wired into your parking lights, the lights have to be on.

Then pull down to refresh the WiFi list on your phone. It can take a few seconds to appear.

The control page will not load

Three things, in this order. Type http://192.168.4.1 with the http:// in front. Check you are still joined to the EYES_ network and your phone has not slipped back to cellular. Turn cellular data off for a minute and try again.

One eye looks different from the other

They are two separate devices, so they are set separately. Join the network of the other lens and pick the same style. Nothing is broken, and nothing needs pairing.

It flickers or dims

Almost always the supply, not the lens. Check your ground first, then the circuit you tapped. Circuits that pulse for LED bulb checking or dimming will show up as flicker - move to a switched 12V feed.

There is condensation in the housing

Rain and car washes are fine. Submerging is not, and neither is a headlight that was baked open and not resealed properly. If you opened one, that seam is the first place to look.

Can I change the eye while I am driving

Do not. Set it before you go. And check your local rules on animated and colored lighting first - in a lot of states this is show use only.

Will it fit my car?

The lens is 3 inches and seats into a projector or fog light housing, which covers most cars, trucks and bikes with projector-style lighting. If yours turns out to be an exception, that is exactly what the 30-day fit guarantee is for.

When will it get here, and where does it ship from?

It ships from our warehouse in the United States, not from overseas. Orders leave within 1 business day and land in 3 to 5 business days, free, tracked the whole way.

What if it stops working?

Every lens carries a 6-month warranty from the day it arrives. If it fails on its own in that time, send us a short video of what it is doing and we replace it free.

The warranty covers the lens failing by itself. It does not cover damage from wiring it wrong, physical damage, or submerging it. That is separate from the 30-day fit guarantee, which covers it not fitting your car at all.

Is this a headlight?

No, and we would rather say it up front. There is no low beam and no high beam in this lens. It is a visual module that installs alongside your existing lighting and does not replace it.

Can I drive with it on?

Rules for animated and colored lighting vary by state, and some of it is show-use only. Check your local rules before you run it on public roads. Nothing stops you from switching it on at a meet, a shoot or in your own driveway.

Do I need an app?

No. Connect your phone to the WiFi network that starts with EYES and open 192.168.4.1 in whatever browser you already have. No download, no account, no login.

Can I really upload anything?

Any JPG or GIF at 240 by 240 pixels, up to 1MB. Logos, handles, symbols, animated loops. Keep it to something readable at that size and it will look sharp on the lens.

Rain and car washes?

Both are fine. Do not submerge it. Rated from -10C to 65C.

Do the two eyes match?

Yes. The pair arrives matched, already running the same eye, so you can fit them and drive. When you want to change the look you set one lens and then the other - each lens makes its own EYES_ network and the control page talks to one at a time. It takes about a minute for both.
